Funda Ayhan CPA, Founder and Managing Director

Funda Ayhan has spent over 25 years in financial markets with roles spanning equity research, investment banking and fund management. Her career has included senior positions at Nomura London where she ran the Global Emerging Market equity desk from 2006-2009. Prior to that she managed the Russian Equity Desk at Dresdner Kleinwort between 2004-2006. Earlier in her career, Funda was a fund manager with AIB Govett in London on the Emerging Europe Fund. More recently, she was a Director on the EMEA equity desk at ING Barings in London before covering UK and European Family Offices. She started her career with Arthur Andersen & Co in Sydney and is a qualified CPA and CFA, Level 1. Funda graduated from the Australian National University, Canberra with majors in Economics and Accounting. Funda is regulated by the FCA.

Dilek Çapanoğlu, Co-Founder and Managing Director

Dilek Çapanoğlu has over 20 years of investment experience. In her most recent role she was the CIO for Emerging Market Equities at Allianz Global Investors, overseeing assets over €5bn. Dilek started her career in 1996 with Robert Fleming Group where she worked in different positions as an analyst and portfolio manager in the Emerging European and European groups. In 2001 she moved to HSBC, focusing on the European small cap product as a senior sales manager. She was Director of Business Development at Collingham Capital Management, a London based hedge fund between 2005-2007. Dilek graduated from the International Partnership of Business Schools, Reutlingen Germany. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in European Finance and Management from the Royal Holloway University, UK.

Elina Nizar, Consultant

Elina Nizar has spent several years working for a family office consultancy. There she helped a number of UK and European Asset Managers with their distribution efforts as well as maintaining and developing relationships with investors across Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Cap Connect, Elina worked as an independent consultant for a Private Equity House in Europe advising on client relations and sales. Elina’s previous roles also include working in Public Relations in the Middle East. Elina studied BSc Psychology at Goldsmiths University of London and is currently studying for a BA in Business & Management at the Open University of London. Elina is fluent in Arabic and is able to converse in Persian.

Angie Chung, Managing Director

Angie Chung has had a career spanning over 20 years in investment banking and has worked across a number of disciplines including Equity Capital Markets, M A and Fixed Income. Most recently, she was senior Chief Operating Officer for the Treasury team at Barclays Bank. Earlier in her career, Angie worked at JP Morgan in the investment banking division in Hong Kong before moving to London as Head of Strategy and Business Development. Prior to JP Morgan, Angie worked in Equity Capital Markets and Equity Syndicate roles at ING Baring Securities in Hong Kong. Angie holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business where she was a Trustee Scholar and a BA from the University of Virginia. Angie is a CFA charter holder.

Marie Devine, Client Relations Director

Marie Devine, Client Relations Director

Marie Devine has spent over 17 years working in the Financial Sector. She started her career with Fleming Asset Management in London and Luxembourg. She later moved to Dresdner RCM Global Investors to work in European Sales and Marketing before joining Barclays Global Investors as a Business Development Manager. Most recently Marie worked at Pictet Asset Management for 7 years in roles covering Client Relationship Management and Sales. Marie graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a MA (Hons) degree in Italian. She obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in European Marketing with Languages from Edinburgh Napier University and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). She is fluent in Italian and French.
